Hello, I feel a little discomfort when foreskin is pulled backwards when having an erection.
When I masturbate i don't pull it back so never had this problem before, but when partner pulls it back it hurts a little.. consulted a urologist in person, he suggested circumcision..
is it normal? If not what could be the reason and if there is any treatment apart from circumcision?

What you're describing is quite common and could be a condition called partial phimosis or tight foreskin, where the foreskin doesnât retract comfortably during an erection. It may not be severe enough to affect normal urination or non-erect states, but during sexual activity, especially when pulled fully back, it can cause tightness, pain, or microtears. Your urologist recommending circumcision is one valid approach, but it's not the only optionâespecially if the condition is mild and you're otherwise healthy.
Next Steps
Before deciding on surgery, you can try non-surgical options like gentle daily manual stretching exercises, possibly combined with a topical steroid cream like betamethasone (applied under medical guidance) to soften the foreskin and improve elasticity. Some patients improve significantly within a few weeks. Itâs important to do this consistently and carefully to avoid injury. A follow-up consult with a dermato-urologist or sexologist who understands conservative treatment may be helpful if you want to delay or avoid circumcision.
Health Tips
Avoid forcibly pulling the foreskin back during sex or masturbation until flexibility improves. Always keep the area clean and dry to avoid infections, which can worsen tightness. If you experience cracking, bleeding, or infection, donât delay seeing a doctor. In homeopathy, remedies like Graphites, Thuja, or Nitric acid have been considered for foreskin issues, but these must be selected after a full individual consultation. Rememberâcircumcision is a permanent step, so exploring conservative treatments first is often worthwhile unless there's a clear medical indication.
