You should not have cleaned his ear in first place, it's wrong practice to clean ear yourself with ear buds Matchstick or anything else.
Our ears doesn't need any cleaning, they a natural mechanism to clean themselves.
Only if you put ear buds Matchstick etc then the natural cleaning mechanism gets distributed leading to impaction of wax.
If the hearing is compromised or there is pain due to wax then only ear should be cleaned and that too by a qualified ENT doctor only, no one else.
You cannot see a tympanic membrane hole with naked eye and that too by lay man. So only after otoscopic/I oto-endoscopic examination by ENT doctor it can be said whether there is hole or not.
Even if there is hole, it will heal with proper treatment.
Get a thorough consultation with ENT doctor.
