normally its not required to regular clean ears of baby and also adults. you can only clean external part of the ear and very sensitive inner parts should not be cleaned as there is risk of damaging important structures in normal circumstances wax does not get impacted in babies frequently and in case you are sure about presence of hard wax you can consult nearby ENT specialist for cleaning

Only the external surface of the ears need be cleaned by you. The cleaning of the ear canal should be at the hands of a professional ENT Specialist. It is advisable to use wax softening drops like Otogesic Ear Drops prior to the consultation so that your doctor can gently suction the softened wax out painlessly.
