I see you sent another request on Practo but it did not have details you included here Joshi ji- I am slightly concerned that it says have lost weight from 71kg down to 66kg on your doctors note. This is level of weight loss is very unusual with functional gut. We normally look at another group of conditions called ‘Malabsorption Syndromes’ when this happens. Do the following, 1. Blood tests- Coeliac antibody test (IgA-TTG), Immunoglobulins, HIV, early morning Cortisol 2. Urine test- 24hrs sample for Metanephrines 3. Stool tests- Microscopy test, Elastase, Calprotectin 4. Gastroscopy with D2 biopsy 5. If above tests don’t give an answer and your symptoms are no better will need further tests/treatment for other malabsorption conditions including bacterial overgrowth. All the best. J G S R clinic
