My daughter and I went to the dentist for filling. Dentist did a quick xray on my daughter's teeth and I was in the room (it was an open room). For me I forgot to mention that I'm 22 weeks pregnant, she did a quick xray on one tooth. After I told her about my pregnancy, she regretted it and asked to tell me next time and with this xray nothing will happen. There was no apron used during xray. Now I'm scared whether it will be for the fetus.

Hello Mam. I understand your concern. You need not worry as dental xray carry very low radiation , and one time exposure is almost negligible but further exposure must be avoided . You need to always tell your Dentist , Doctor any physician about your Pregnancy.
Hey!! Please don’t worry!!
A single dental intraoral X-ray exposes the body to an extremely low dose of radiation, and the amount that reaches the fetus is considered negligible. At 22 weeks of pregnancy, an inadvertent exposure from one dental X-ray is not expected to harm your baby or increase the risk of birth defects.
The absence of a lead apron in this situation is also unlikely to have caused any significant risk, as modern dental X-rays are highly focused on the mouth and produce minimal scatter radiation.
Going forward, always inform your dentist about your pregnancy before any dental procedure so appropriate precautions can be taken. If dental treatment is necessary during pregnancy, it can usually be performed safely with proper shielding and only when clinically indicated.
Continue your routine antenatal care, and there is no need for any additional tests or intervention solely because of this single dental X-ray. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy.
Good afternoon,
Generally teeth X-rays require very small dosage. Not that harmful but should be avoided during pregnancy. Now do not get worried as it’s already been done, But avoid any further exposure to any future X-rays during pregnancy.
Next Steps
Do not worry, you worrying will cause more issue than that small exppsire.
Dental xrays emit less radiation than an airplane flight so getting exposed to one xray is okay but any further exposure should be avoided in pregnancy.
Don't worry about it as radiation is comparatively less in this kind of x-ray.
Next Steps
please mention that you are pregnant if you are going to visit any doctor. Medicines or investigations will be prescribed accordingly.
Health Tips
don't stress about it in your current situation. please take care of oral hygiene in pregnancy. Chances of teeth & soft tissue infection is comparatively higher in pregnancy. Clean your teeth after having any meal. Addition to that please wash your mouth with warm saline water before going to the bed.
