Dexamethasone Effects during pregnancy
Due to Heavy cold doctor had given Single dose 4 mg of dexamethasone once during my pregnancy at 16 th week. Is there any chances for Birth defects to baby? when we surff on online we can see its a steroid and should not give to Pregnent women. Someone please help us to get clarified.

No, it will not cause birth defects. No serious side effects will be seen with this drug. Instead It can be given at 32 weeks for lung maturity of fetus depending upon the risk associated with  pregnancy.
