If you have a small, stable white spot on your fingertips that has not changed in size over the past four years, it may not be an immediate cause for concern. However, any changes in your skin should be monitored, and it's always a good idea to consult with a dermatologist for a proper evaluation. Possible causes of white spots on the skin can include: Vitiligo: This is a condition where the skin loses pigmentation, resulting in white patches. Fungal Infections: Certain fungal infections can cause discoloration of the skin. Hypopigmentation: Loss of skin color, which can be due to various factors. Other Skin Conditions: There are various other skin conditions that could cause changes in pigmentation. Since the spot has remained stable for several years, it may be a benign condition. However, it's crucial to have it examined by a dermatologist to rule out any potential concerns. We can perform a thorough examination, possibly order tests, and provide a more accurate diagnosis. It's always better to be proactive about your health, and if you have any doubts or concerns about skin changes, consulting with me is the recommended course of action.
