Visit a dentist and get all relevant diagnostic tests done, including a CBCT.

Yes implants can be an option for him, get a CBCT(advanced x ray) done which will show wether your father has enough bone or not .. in case he has then it's a simple procedure to put implants but in case he doesn't have, then some advanced techniques are employed first to either create bone or some other implant systems like basal implants can be used for him
Next Steps
Get his thorough medical checkup done and all the diagnostic tests done
Health Tips
On the basis of cbct and medical reports get a firm diagnosis and take opinion from two or three doctors/ implantologist and opt what you think is best for you

More than age his medical condition and habits are important. If he BN is medically fit and does not smoke, then we need to access his bone condition. If bone condition is good we can place implants for him.
