Sharp pain after drinking cold water could be due to many reasons like small cracks on tooth, filling leakage, bone loss from that particular area or some tooth infection.
X ray can rule out the problem.
It's better to consult with doctor online or offline for better guidance and treatment options.
First and foremost, extreme cold/hot water is bad for your teeth. The sharp pain which you sense is called sensitivity and could be arising from either the tooth which has composite filling or some other.
You might be suffering from reversible pulpitis & needs investigations like iopa , a small tooth xray & some test to confirm the same.
Please visit dentist / an endodontist for further investigation & treatment accordingly.
Health Tips
avoid any hard foodstuff from that side till the treatment gets done.
Thanks!
Hello
It is very common to have transient sensitivity after composite filling. But if the filling was done in April, and still you feel discomfort, then it needs to be checked clinically.
Having sharp pain indicates tooth infection.
Next Steps
Kindly visit your dentist and get a proper examination done. You can upload your x ray for better guidance.
