Dental cavity in 4yr old ( with ASD )
My daughter is having deep dental cavity in right side at the back and having pain now.
She is 4 yrs old and Autistic ( also with no proper speech) is not cooperating for treatment.
Doctor suggested for giving pedicloryl and then try.
How successful is the treatment with this medicine? I mean what if my child wakes in between the treatment?
Are there any other options?
If extraction also an option?
Kindly suggest.

All the possible treatment for that particular teeth is suggested under Conscious sedation or General Anesthesia. The medical fitness is must by paediatrician for doing procedure under GA.

Yours daughter first visit will be only to get her familiarise with the clinic and with the doctor. If she’ll feel comfortable then treatment will be proceeded by next visit. But if she doesn’t then sedation is the option.
She is 4 years old so the involved tooth is milky tooth and the cavity is deep then pulpectomy or extraction are the treatment options in your daughter’s case.

Hi,
The only way the treatment can be done is when your daughter is not conscious. Sedation or GA is the best option. Medical fitness is required.
