Gap (diastema) between front teeth can be caused by many factors like small teeth size, high frenal attachment, gum disease, congenitally missing tooth, habits like tongue thrusting etc. Treatment will depend on severity of gap, underlying cause, gum health, and esthetic factors etc. It can be corrected by composite fillings (dental bonding), veneers (direct/indirect), crowns (ceramic/zirconia), orthodontic treatment (braces), implants etc. Definite treatment will depend on clinical and radiographic examination.
Next Steps
Visit the dentist for definite clinical evaluation and treatment.
Hi,
The gaps can be closed by orthodontic treatment with braces or by bonding with either light cure or ceramics. If the gap is excessive then orthodontic treatment is a better option. It is very long lasting and the teeth will not appear large as in the case of the other two treatments.
However it will take more time and so if you are in a hurry bonding with composite or ceramic veneers is the way to go.
Hi . For young patients the best option to close gaps in Braces .
If you don’t want braces you can either go for Composite Fillings or Ceramic Veneers . Both can give good results. However Ceramic Veneers are superior in terms of longevity.
Would be able to suggest better treatment options if you could share pictures .
