Wisdom tooth near nerve
Hi i have wisdom tooth in both lower side, but recently i started feeling mild pain and a gap created between 38 and 37 teeth.  Dentist asked me to remove the wisdom tooth, I have done cbct and root is very close to nerve, dentist said nerve damage can happen, im scared what to do. Can you please advise me if this really could cause nerver damage i have consulated many dentists and all of them have different option. Thanks

Hello sir, as a maxillofacial surgeon I would suggest removal of wisdom teeth. No doubt the tooth is near the inferior alveolar nerve canal but it's not always like it will cause nerve damage. 90% cases ian don't get injured but if it is near chances are there but not in every case. Careful extraction is needed. Do procedure from an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. They are specialized in that.

Don't worry. Not in each case nerve damage is permanent.

Hello Seeing your reports the roots of your tooth are away from the nerve so no need to worry and if there is nerve paresthesia (numbness of lip) that wont stay for long it will go within weeks. I would recommend to undergo extraction of the tooth as soon as possible. Dentsspa Dental Studio Pune
