Delayed period
Hi doctor,I used to have regular periods on or before 2nd every month . This time its getting delayed, took up a pregnancy test, it says negative....I was on birth control pills till march, what might be the reason for delay of my periods...should I consult a doctor? Please do reply asap

there are four hormones which act in conjunction to get periods. if the pregnancy test is negative there is nothing to worry. if it happens on and off then u can seek the help of a gynaec.otherwise such conditions are self limiting

For how long your cycle is delayed, if its too long then get an ultrasound done and consult gyne. Do you have a history of delayed cycles, if so you might be having hormonal imbalance.

Birth control pills just mask your hormone imbalance while you are on it. They have potential side effects. Once you come off them without doing anything to heal the body, body goes into a deeper hormone imbalance.
