Avoid hard food. Also avoid large portions of food at once. Eating with a spoon is better to control portion size.

Just follow precautions for TMJ which your dentist gave you. Avoid wide mouth opening and hard food. Keep your mouth clean by twice a day brushing and mouthwash. Use a water flosser if possible

Stop worrying. Start living your life. Things will turn for better. Tmj issues are not so big. Just follow your dentist advice and concentrate on being less tensed. They have periods of worsening and getting better. So just go with flow.
Next Steps
Worry can worsen the symptoms.
