CT scan of neck (Urgent)
Hi, Does CT of neck scans tongue, tonsils and pharyngeal wall too? Also can you explain me what all are scanned in CT of neck.

Hello, You don’t have to scan separate for neck and tonsils, etc. You can get it done by only doing CT scan skullbase to thoracic inlet. Usually CT scans are done mostly to know about the bony involvement in any disease/condition. MRI is done to know about soft tissue involvement. But always remember, never ask for a CT scan electively. Only do it if doctor has advised you for it as CT scan also has various side effects on our body. Hope this gives you a brief idea about CT scan.

Hi, Unless your exact symptoms are known it is very difficult to suggest which scan is required. For a general information please note that CT scan and MRI can scan any bodily structure with some advantages and disadvantages of each. Thanks.
