Hello mam,
Staghorn calculus means a large calculus that is obstructing the mouth of the kidney. So the longer you wait, the more symptoms you might get or it can cause swelling in the kidney known as hydronephrosis. This hydronephrosis can keep on increasing because the urine that is made in the kidney is not able to go down to the ureter or urine pipe. So in this case, yes surgery is the best option.
