I have had retainers for several months no improvement. After that I was advised to get implants . Does it help. Only for cosmetic purpose.

Retainers  maintain  space only. Teeth are not only for cosmetic, it serves  alot of function -chewing, speaking  and many more. You are just 23 yr old so obviously  u need a fixed teeth. You have two options  for fixed teeth 1- Implant  and 2- FPD (BRIDGE )
Next Steps
Meet your  dentist, discuss  the options, about cost  and pros and cons of both, then decide.

Retainers do not cause tooth movements. They can only maintain the gap. If your gap is big you may have to go in for an implant or a fixed bridge. Anything in the mouth has to be functional besides for cosmetic reasons else it will not work
