Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. I understand your concern. For breastfeeding mothers with a 2 month old baby, treatment for common cold should be simple and safe. ✅ Advices • Stay well hydrated and take warm fluids like soup or herbal tea • Steam inhalation 1 to 2 times a day helps clear nasal blockage • Adequate rest supports recovery What to Monitor • Fever above 100.4°F • Cough or nasal symptoms worsening beyond 5 to 7 days • Any breathing difficulty in mother or baby Management • You may take plain paracetamol 500 mg for fever or body ache (safe during breastfeeding) • For running nose, saline nasal drops or steam inhalation are safest. • Avoid strong decongestants (like pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine) as they may affect milk supply or pass into breast milk. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately • If high fever, chest pain, or breathing difficulty develops • If the baby shows cough, fever, or poor feeding 👉 You can connect with me on Practo or WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a personalized prescription with safe medicines that suit your condition. Take care, wishing you good health. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
