A cold with cough for 1 week, worsening on lying down with a vomiting sensation, is most consistent with: • Post Nasal Drip (mucus trickling back when lying down) • Associated throat irritation leading to cough reflex and gagging
Next Steps
• Symptomatic treatment: – Anti-allergic like Levocetirizine (once daily at night) – Cough syrup (preferably anti-allergic + soothing) – Steam inhalation 2–3 times daily • Nasal care: – Saline nasal spray or rinse • Sleeping advice: – Use 2 pillows (head elevation)
Health Tips
• Avoid cold drinks, dust exposure • Warm fluids (soups, honey water) • Do not lie flat immediately after meals • Gargle with warm salt water ⸻
