Suppose your friend suffers from hypothyroidism or psoriasis or asthma, would she be unfit for marriage? If your answer is no then why do you ask this question for depression? Depression is a treatable condition and a normal life is possible provided right treatment is taken. Duration of medicines depends on a lot of factors but even if it is lifelong, normal life is possible. Lifelong medicines can be needed for almost all the conditions I have mentioned above and many more. Do all of them become unfit for marriage? Sexual dysfunction can happen more with untreated depression than with medications. Worst case scenario if it is not treated?what happened recently with a movie actor whose suicide everyone is discussing? That is the worst case scenario for untreated depression.
Next Steps
ask your friends fiance to make your friend meet his doctor so that she can clarify her doubts.

Hello. There are no details mentioned fo the medication. But please be assured that people can function absolutely well with medicines, therapy and good lifestyle. In fact it’s very much comparable to having diabetes or hypertension. If your friend is marrying this person she should be happy that it was shared with her prior to the marriage. And she should discuss with the individuals doctor if needed
