Chronic urticaria
I am having cronic urticaria for the last three months...i have tried antuhistaminics and short course steroid...i want to know about the indications omalizumab...

If you have tried antihistamines upto four-fold dosage, steroid and cyclosporine, still there is no control and despite these measures lesions are persisting then you can try omalizumab.

Omalizumab is a monoclonal anti-IgE antibody that has been approved for the treatment of refractory chronic spontaneous urticaria. Omalizumab is safe and effective treatment for the management of chronic spontaneous urticaria. It can be used in Indian setting after failure to other third-line therapies such as addition of montelukast and cyclosporine due to high cost of treatment.

Omalizumab can be tried if there is no control with antihistamines or other drugs....it has to be given in a hospital setting only... kindly consult online with relevant photographs for proper assessment and treatment
