Child speaking question
My son is 9 month old however till date he has not started speaking he shouts very loud but does speak words like papa mummy etc is this normal thing and further by what age does children normally start speaking Please suggest course of action

He is too young to speak words as per your expectations. As long as he responds to his name and makes gurgling or babbling sounds or monosyllables you need not worry

The two most important factors for normal speech are a normal hearing and a normal brain. If both are OK,he WILL speak,normal speech development is 1-3 meaningful words at one year of age,3 word sentences at 2 years and full adult speech at 3 years. BUT,there's a lot of variation to this.
