Child Flu ...
My son complained of stomach ache and developed fever. We consulted a doctor and gave the prescribed medicines. The fever was under control on that day. On the next day, the fever shot up to 104.6 and we rushed hum to a hospital. The fever came down after 5- 6 hours. The doctor said that it's a flu. The fever is almost gone since then. But since then my son has become very weak . He used to be very active. He sleeps most of the time and has a dry cough. What should I do?

Most fevers in children are viral in origin and take 3-7 days to subside completely. Just give steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. Use paracetamol for fever and repeat every 4 hours if required. If not improving OR accompanied by other symptoms like vomiting or loose motions or coughing and breathlessness or dullness and refusal to feed, consult your paediatrician asap.
