Strain means injury to muscle..It may arise due to muscle stretch or injury.. Cervical spondylosis is wear and tear changes seen in the cervical spine.. You can help prevent progression of spondylosis by training your muscles and making them strong.. Strain can be treated by conservative methods and  prevented by repeated injuries..
