I had a metal cap earlier in my tooth. Now I got that removed as gums were getting affected and black portion was visible near gums. Doctor has now suggested ceramic cap. He advises to get a cap worth Rs.10,000 from DentCare. Can you please let me know if there is any option which is equally good or better but for lesser cost? Is the one he is suggesting alright?

Namaskaram,
Ceramic crowns are the advanced versions from the regular metal ceramic crowns . These provide natural coloring to the tooth where as in the metal ceramic the ceramic portion is just a thin layer over the metal which does not cover the edge/bottom layer hence the visibility of the metal part. Being aesthetically and functionally on a higher end the full ceramic crowns are priced high when compared to the metal ceramic. Your dentist has suggested you one of best brands .
