hello mam there can be some other ways to control caries in babies we just need to make sure that whether it needs the rct by doing some investigations so that a better treatment plan can be made thank you
Since your child has pain already, the decay has reached the pulp of the tooth.Root canal is the only option in this case ,antibiotic and analgesic syrup will be given first,so that the pain and infection is under control.
Rct can be postponed for some more time as the child is too small and may not be cooperative i.e after the pain and infection is controlled, but you need to maintain the tooth by brushing twice daily ,or else the tooth will completely get destroyed due to decay.
Hello dear
Please be calm
No indirect pulp capping could also be done
Sometimes application of GIC is enough to control infection
For further details you can consult me
Thanks
Hii.. To remove the cavity , there are mainly 2 options, one is filling & 2nd is RCT. This will depend on the extent of the cavity. If your baby's age is 2 years then you should go to the pedodontist & get the required treatment done. For any further information, you can book a consultation with me.
