Hello practo user
I can understand the difficult situation you are currently facing in your life. Like you mentioned that these thoughts are related to your childhood and that they are also distressing in nature . Negative past events and negative conditioning during childhood can have an impact on us once we grow up and some stressful situation can trigger those memories . You can try and practice deep breathing when you feel these thoughts arising , deep breathing will help you calm your flow of thoughts. Try and focus on positive and happy events happening around you . Try and talk to close family members and friends . Maintain a healthy schedule and lifestyle. You can also try backward counting and regular exercise to keep yourself active. It is advisable that you seek help from a clinical psychologist for an in-depth case history to reach a diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan which will be designed through regular counseling sessions in which you can learn healthy coping skills and strategies. You can also get in touch with me through the practo app for any further help or guidance .
