Can we take more than one cbct scan?
I am having an Endo appointment today. This Endo doctor doesn't allow/see images from another dentist office. I have cbct scan images from my dentist in the DVD. She said she has to take another CBCT scan in their office. I had CBCT scan last Friday. Can I take another one today? Is it very harmful Radiation of having more than one CT scan in a week?  This might sound silly . But I am anxious about dental treatments. So would like to know if getting more than x-ray and CT scan not harmful to our body? I have severe jaw pain and swelling for a month. My dentist said I might have a crack in a tooth. So he took CBCT scan. Is it harmful to have more CT scans?? Please help. Any thoughts?

It is not harmful to take a second scan. Need not worry. Dental x ray radiation is minimal. Also during opg and cbct scan they take lot of precautions like giving lead aprons. You can go for it

Hello Read complete history through earlier post. Can go for another scan or x-ray. According to x-ray (old post)one more reason for pain is presence of  pulp stone in pulp chamber which was seen on x-ray. You can discuss that with your dentist.

Hello. I feel the previous x ray must be used to decide your treatment. It makes no sense to repeat a scan unless the previous scan has poor quality. The first option is to reduce the exposure to x ray. But if it's for your help and better treatment only a repeat scan is justifiable. It's not harmful to take CT scans. But caution must be placed on the need of the scan. For further details please read this article on practo: https://www.practo.com/healthfeed/dental-x-rays-fear-of-radiation-is-irrational-33431/post
