Can hair regrow after 2-3 years?
I had severe hairfall about 3 years back which gave me a kind of bald spot on the top of my head. The spot is not completely bald as it has very low quantity of hair but the scalp is clearly visible. I have been using minoxidil for 1.5 years now, along with finasteride (on and off). I also had 5 PRP sessions with one session a month. I still haven't witnessed any hair growth and right now I'm using minoxidil and finasteride regularly. I'm concerned if hair can actually regrow after this much time. And how longer should I want and keep using minoxidil. What other options do I have left now?

You may be suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts refeeding  from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. This may also be accompanied by severe dandruff. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is the best. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised  and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects on the hair roots. Along with this, you can also consider platelet rich plasma therapy in addition to the medical treatment. Please call me or  contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting. I can give guidance and then you can continue treatment on your own.,

Yes.. regrowth possible.. however treatment depends on the grade...You are suffering from hormonal changes causing Androgenetic alopecia causing hair fall. It's completely stoppable even regrowth of hair is possible with certain medications without any side effects. Treatment depends on the grade of hair loss. So, it's a must for diagnosing which grade, you are in for an effective treatment. Please  send photos of your head, by direct online consultation for accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.

I suppose you are taking about the crown bald spot at top of the head It's a relatively difficult to treat area along with bitemporal recession You could consider 1. Hair patch (temporary) 2. Hair Fibres (temporary) 3. Limited Hair transplant (permanent) In either of the cases you'll need to continue using Topical Minoxidil and Finasteride Oral Finasteride can be stopped in very gradual manner One way to be regular is to consider it as brushing teeth You'll brush teeth daily You'll apply meds daily In conclusion it's a complex affair Do reach out for a proper consultation!
