Bruxism and snoring
Hi all, Good evening!! I have been snoring for the last 3 years and recently bruxism started due to which I had a tooth fracture. For bruxism I'm using night guards and it only stops the sound but please suggest ways to overcome both.

Dear patient. I understand your concern. Snoring arises from multiple reasons. Snoring is always best treated early.  Many studies prove that  snoring increase cerebrovascular and systemic diseases. Visit a dental clinic in your city for proper dental checkup. Regarding bruxism - it can permanently damage your other teeth too. Both need proper diagnosis and long term treatment. In some type of dental problems orthodontic treatment is key for good relief. Avoid self diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helped.

Lifestyle changes to help you stop snoring: Lose weight. Losing even a little bit of weight can reduce fatty tissue in the back of the throat and decrease, or even stop, snoring. Quit smoking. If you smoke, your chances of snoring are high. Avoid alcohol, sleeping pills, and sedatives. Exercise in general can reduce snoring, even if it doesn't lead to weight loss. That's because when you tone various muscles in your body, such as your arms, legs, and abs, this leads to toning the muscles in your throat, which in turn can lead to less snoring. For Bruxism continue using nightguards. Taking steps to relieve stress, practising good sleep habits and avoiding caffeine in the evening may help reduce grinding.
Next Steps
Consult an ENT specialist for permanent treatment for snoring.

Chronic snoring can be due to various reasons like thin/deviated nasal septum, polyps etc and many other factors. Night guards will prevent your teeth grinding habit to affect your teeth as minimal pressure will be there due to guards but to treat the underlying problem of snoring you should consult an ENT.
Next Steps
Consult an ENT to treat snoring or evaluate it further.
Health Tips
Switch to hard night guards if your current ones are soft or torn. Continue wearing it while sleeping.
