Hi, I can feel how heavy this is for your brother and for your family. His symptoms confusion, fear, poor focus, body weakness, are very real and affecting daily life. Medically, kidney findings plus high RBCs need close follow-up with a nephrologist, since physical illness can worsen mental clarity. From a psychological view, the mix of anxiety, mood changes, cognitive fog may overlap with neurocognitive disorder . or mood/anxiety disorder with somatic symptoms. The many medicines suggest doctors are trying both neurological and psychiatric angles. You’re doing right by not ignoring this.
Next Steps
One coordinated team (neurologist + nephrologist + psychiatrist together), not scattered visits. Track side effects: some medicines themselves cause fog or weakness. Gentle support: regular meals, hydration, sleep routine, reassurance.
Health Tips
Don’t argue with his fears or confusion. Listen, reassure, and gently redirect.m Too many family members giving advice overwhelms him. Choose one primary caregiver to communicate daily instructions Fixed times for meals, sleep, light walks. Predictability reduces anxiety and confusion. Small praises for even simple tasks like eating, bathing, or sitting in sunlight. Note down symptoms, side effects, sleep, appetite. Carry it to each doctor. It gives clarity
