Bracket for lil. Gap btw upper teeth
I have recently received orthodontic treatment for lil gaps between my upper teeth. My dentist placed braces only on my upper teeth n said that the gaps would take minimum 2-3 months to close n max to max 6 months. My query is won't there be any problem with my bite after the gaps are closed n upper teeth have moved inwards as there are no braces on my lower teeth. Pls help with the query. Thanku

Hello Maam. First of all, please don't worry. Your bite and smile will be fine. Generally speaking we put braces for both upper and lower teeth for best results but I m sure your orthodontist took this decision to put braces only on your upper because genuinely lower may not require any treatment and putting braces on lower teeth may actually have spoiled your smile. And depending upon the gaps the treatment may take anywhere from 6 months to a year or a year and a half. Please relax and have faith in your Orthodontist but if you are still apprehensive you can always go for second opinion. Please don't worry. Hoping that my answer is of help to you. Regards, Dr. Arshita Singh (Orthodontist), Dentaire@BH, Road No 4, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

There will be no problem with your bite . Just have patience ,there will be no gap left between your upper teeth after the treatment. Be happy.
