Hi.. Yes it's better to undergo braces. Based on your concern, it seems that you have increased overjet both dental and skeletal (jaw). You might need teeth extraction as well. Results would be good. Go ahead.
Good afternoon. From what you have put up in your question, there could be any one of the following situations or their combination:
1.) Jaw(s) is/are prominent.
2.) You have a 'gummy' smile, i.e., your gums are prominent or enlarged.
3.) Your teeth are actually prominent; not your jaws or gums.
The first two conditions would require surgery of jaw(s) & gums respectively also along with braces, while the third could be corrected only by orthodontics (braces). If there are more than one of these conditions present together, then the treatment would be accordingly.
A 'Digital OPG' & 'Digital Lateral Cephalogram' would be helpful in determining the cause of your teeth appearing 'outwards'; and also for treatment planning.
Take care & keep smiling.
