Its atleast 8-12 months depending upon case. If less movement is required may be 6-8 months.
But dont forget the retention/maintainence phase
That past for additional 6 months. I believe that is the most important

See u have to understand, time of treatment is directly proportional to the extent of malocclusion . like for closing minor gaps or small midline 6 to9 months is ok but for major problem treatment time is normally between 1.5 to 2 years.
Dear Practo User,
Results of orthodontic treatment (Braces) depends upon the condition of your teeth. Results are also achieved in 6 months, but we can not always be sure.

Outcome of braces depends on a lot of factors of which the most important being the condition of the teeth before starting the treatment. if the movement needed is not much & the age of the patient is young it can be done quicker. but on an average the time. required is 1-1.5,2 years
Hello, it can be done. Braces duration ranges from 4 months to 2 years depwnding upon the patient's age, condition or position of the teeth and expectation. 1 months less or more in braces treatment is also acceptable.
It completely depends on the severity of the case. If it is a simple space closure without removing any teeth, it might need 6 months as your doctor told. But average orthodontic case treated with removal of teeth might need around 15-18 months.
hello, full fledged orthodontic treatment time is 12 months to 15 months. it depends upon the age, position of the teeth and the expectation. visit your dentist for proper diagnosis.Regards
