Both are different.. Rickets is a bone mineralisation problem while osteoporosis is defect in bone mass density.

Both are almost the same..Though there are many causes, this can arise primarily due to low calcium intake and low vit d 3 levels.. Usually the condition is called rickets in children and osteoporosis in old aged people..
