Blue veins above knee
My Aunty is 56 years old and she has these blue veins on top of her knee. She is having difficulty in walking and it pains too. Can you tell me what it is?

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. However I would like to examine & investigate your aunty  in detail. -Control  Hypertension, Diabetes or  metabolic disorder, if there is any. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. --. Keep no pillow under the head. --. Avoid painful acts & activities. --. Fomentation with warm water. Some information is missing for that you can consult online/offline. Blue vein above ankle joint due to many reasons- 1. Blue tortuous vein above ankle may be varicose vien 2. It may be normal due to decreased subcutaneous fat. 3. Due to some other reason like AV malformation which is not in this case All these needs thorough examinations and investigations for further satisfaction.

According to the details you have given it seems to be osteoarthritis of the knee joint which is very common in this age.
