For acquiring accurate blood test results, it is very important to keep in mind the timings and fasting state which makes a lot of difference. - Vitamin B12: This test is usually done after observing a fasting state (8-10 hours) because recent meals, especially the ones which are high in animal protein, can raise the b12 levels in the body temporarily and give false measures. Morning fasting is considered the most reliable method for testing vitamin B12.  - Vitamin D: No fasting is required for doing this test as the levels remain stable throughout the day and are not significantly affected by meals. It can be tested anytime. - Serum Iron: While testing for Iron fasting is required as levels vary every day and are usually highest in the morning. An overnight fasting will give you accurate results. And it is important to note that avoid consuming iron supplements for at least 24 hours before testing, as they can elevate iron levels.

Hi Although Vitamin D can be tested any time, it is better to test B12 and iron in fasting, since food and supplements can affect the levels.
