Blood pressure medication
I have elevated blood pressure from few weeks.. Its between 135-145 (systolic) to 90-100 (diastolic) ... sometimes its 130/90 too.. Doctor prescribed me Met xl 12.5 tab. My weight is 64 height is 5.6 age 38 I want to ask following, Is this a blood pressure medication? Is it for life long? As it is 1st  time to start this medication i am nervous, What are the side effects of long term use? Is Life style modification stop this medicine?

As you have said, your BMI is normal 1.yes it is BP medication 2.kindly monitor BP for few weeks go to your general physician. Is there any family history of hypertension or heart attack? 3.dont get nervous. 4.It is always beneficial to take medicine if anyone have BP. Medication decreases the chances of future complications. Benifits outweighs the adverse effects. 5.You should follow healthy life style to avoid further complications. And monitor your BP.
