Hi. I am gum specialist. You definitely need to get regular cleaning done every 6 months. The deposits will definitely recur and that is why regular professional cleaning is recommended. It's a myth that few people believe that once you start getting cleaning done the deposits keep coming back in a larger amount. No thats definitely not true. It is just an illusion since once you get teeth cleaned and all the deposits are removed you tend to get a little conscious towards its accumulation. And cleaning will definitely not damage or erode your enamel if done by a proper dentist.
