I have braces and my treatment is about to end. I have noticed black triangles in between 3 lower teeth. It is not visible wen i talk. My doctor says it is up to me to close the gaps by cutting the teeth or leave the gaps ie black triangles as it is. I am confused wat to do. Will there be any problems after cutting?
My doctor says it's ok to leave the gaps as it is. Will there be problems in future if I don't cut now and leave the space? If yes then wat problems will i face after braces are removed. Wat do u recommend i should do?

It's not ok to leave the gaps as such. Do take a OPG x-ray and check for allignment of teeth, if it's already upright then u can go in for mild proximal reduction or if not the brackets can be repositioned to close the gaps(which may increase the treatment duration a bit longer). If the gap is less than 1-2mm, then u can try a gingival surgery which can restore the gingival height rather than going for a proximal reduction.
