Hello, black staining can occur due to calcium and magnesium deficiencies but it requires long duration to happen.. so mostly not due to deficiencies..it is due to chromogenic bacteria ,intake of iron, tobacco, bettle nut ,tea ,cofee, high sugar containing foods and fruits...
Next Steps
maintain dental hygiene, brush twice daily , use dental floss, use chlorhexidine mouth wash daily after having food so it prevents recolonizing the bacteria
It could be due to deficiency of micronutrients. Also chewing gutta etc, can lead to staining of tooth. Iron supplements, medication like tetracycline, excess of fluoride, there are so many reasons for discoloration of teeth.
Better improve your dental hygiene. Consult a physician physically.

Hello, the black stains on teeth that come back even after scaling are usually not due to vitamin or mineral deficiency. They are most commonly caused by factors like smoking/tobacco, certain mouth bacteria, tea/coffee intake, or iron-containing supplements. It is not a serious disease but can be recurrent. The best management is regular dental cleaning, maintaining good oral hygiene, and reducing possible triggers. You may revisit your dentist if the stains trouble you again. A vitamin deficiency is very unlikely to be the cause.
Black discoloration on the gingival margins of teeth most often occurs due to deposit on the surfaces (plaque, chromogenous bacteria, coffee/tea, tobacco, or ferrous water) instead of vitamin/mineral deficiency. If the discoloration recurs promptly after scaling, then quick deposit or discoloration-forming behavior is probably occurring.
Next Steps
(1) Maintain good oral hygiene: brush twice daily with fluoridated toothpaste, use dental floss, and consider a mouthwash.
(2) Limit tea, coffee, tobacco, and other staining foods.
(3) Regular dental cleaning may be needed every 3–6 months if stains keep recurring.
(4) Visit a dentist for evaluation of oral hygiene habits and to rule out enamel/dentin issues.
