ECT and magnetic stimulation are not first line therapies. In your case the following approach may work
1. Optimisation of mood stabiliser dose
2.reduction of antipsychotic dose if that is causing obsessional thoughts
3. Balancing with an anti OCD drug with least propensity for a manic switch.
4.psychotherapy for thoughts.
There are a variety of options in pharmacotherapy so your doctor need not advise about electric/magnetic therapy. They are costly , may require admission/daycare , they also reduce the efficacy of medicines.

Hello, Bipolar disorder along with obsessive symptoms would require a detailed assessment to know and understand the relationship between the two disorders, the severity and magnitude of each, the effect of treatment of one disorder on the other and several other such aspects. It is a delicate balance of treatment and a combined approach of medication and psychological intervention is usually the best suited approach. Regarding somatic treatments like electro convulsive therapy or magnetic stimulation, the are used for very specific indications within these disorders and are not the first line of treatment. Kindly discuss these treatment modalities with your psychiatrist for better understanding. Hope this helps you..
