The area needs proper cleaning and dressing to allow the pus to drain. Oral antibiotics such as Augmentin or cephalexin may be needed as prescribed by the doctor. To help prevent this from happening again, give regular baths, keep the skin clean and dry, and try to avoid excessive sweating.
