Can not be used as baking soda contains lot of sodium and infants that is child below 1 year have an immature kidney so that cannot excrete sodium well so using baking soda will increase burden on the kidney and problems.
Just 1/2 a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate contains 629 grams of sodium, which is a quarter of an adult person’s daily recommended intake. So not recommended at all for infants.
