Hi.. Good evening to you. Regarding the issue of halitosis.. The number one cause for bad breath is the presence of bacteria surrounding the gums and causing it's inflammation. Infected gums give out a bad breath.. Scalings tend only to remove bacterial deposits that are above the gums.. You may experience temporary relief from your bad breath.. But it returns. The ideal treatment would be to get a gingival curettage along with your scaling to clean out infection in your gums. Other causes for bad breath include chronic sinusitis.. Food lodgement between your teeth.. Crowns or bridges you may have that are not cleansable.. Of course a definitive answer can be given after a clinical check up.. But I hope you have got an idea.
Next Steps
I kindly request you to fix an appointment with us.. so that after a clinical check up.. we can identify the issue and work towards solving it.
