My 9 month old baby is having fever since yesterday evening. His oral temperature is always above 102F-102.5F. I am giving him paracetamol drops every 6 hours which is dropping the temperature to 100.5-101F but he is getting fever 3-4 hours later after giving drops. He is not having any other symptom other than fever till 30 hours. Baby is taking the feeds but is groaning in fever and not being able to sleep well. I tried tepid sponging but baby is crying when I did.
Should I wait for another day or visit the doctor immediately. Kindly guide.

You should visit the doctor for physical examination. Most infections are viral and fever takes 3-5 days to settle. But we have to see baby doesn't have any toxic signs of bacterial infections.
Next Steps
1. For tepid sponging, use water at room temp and not ice cold water
2. Keep feeding the baby as much as possible
because fever causes dehydration
3. If baby has nasal congestion, try nasoclear drops 3-4 times a day.
Give drops Calpol 1ml every 6th hourly for fever for 2 days
Put Nasoclear nasal drops 2drops in both nostrils every 4th hourly for 3 days
It's Viral fever so no need if any antibiotics
