Baby has a swelling on the lips
Hi sir my baby has a swelling on the lips, and it has been there for more than 25 days. The swelling hasn’t gone down, and I’m a bit worried.

Looks like mucocele , please visit near by dentist vand get it removed, laser assisted surgery will have very less discomfort

Most likely a simple traumatic mucocele
✔️ No signs of infection
✔️ Size small to moderate
✔️ Safe to observe for 2–3 weeks
1. Do not manipulate the lesion. Do not attempt to pop.
2. Apply coconut oil 3–4×/day.
3. Prevent lip biting.
4. Recheck in 2 weeks.
5. If persists beyond 3–4 weeks → get it evaluated by a pedodontist.
Conservative Home Care
• Avoid lip biting (monitor during feeding)
• Keep the area clean
• No spicy / salty foods
• Apply glycerin or virgin coconut oil 3–4 times a day
• Maintain hydration
• Prevent further trauma (avoid hard toys to mouth)
Next Steps
Check for increase in size for the next 2-4 weeks. Check for pain, changes in colour from pink-purple. (It might indicate infection)

Can use numbing gels for infants after evaluation. Do not opt for steroidal ointments.

It looks like a mucocele (swelling in salivary gland) if the baby is painless it’s not of severe concern but since it has been there for a long time pls consult a pedodontist/ dental surgeon for further treatment
It may require surgical removal so it doesn’t recur

Caused due to lip biting in children. You should consult a Pedodontist ( specialist dentist of child ).

Seems like a haematoma (blood clot) has been formed due to either trauma or lip biting
Kindly consult once with pedodontist ( children dentist specialist)
