Baby's Dry lips
Sir, my son is 5 months and 10 days old. The issue is that since the doctors refuse to give babies water to drink before he completes six months, we do not give him water to drink. But we notice that his lips gets dry in such hot climate and he seems to be thirsty. When we give him boiled water to drink once in a while, he drinks it very quickly and interestingly and seems to seeking more and more. But we fear from giving him frequently to avoid any kind of risk. So please suggest that if we can give him water to drink now onwards or should wait? Is there any kind of risk?

the reason water is not given to babies less than 6 months because they didn't need it. breast and correctly prepared formula has enough water. the risks of giving water are infection and filling the stomach with water and hence compromising on milk.nutrition n weight gain..so if you give clean water in the situation you described then it is OK to give water .
