6 Months old baby feeding issues
My baby's birth weight was 3.16kgs and now he is 6.2kgs in 6 months 9 days. He is under weight for his age. I give him solids 2 times in a day. He is on formula feed and drink around 600-700 ml approx. in a day. He has feeding issues which started from when he was 4 months old and has worsen now. No matter how hungry he is, he won't drink milk unless I put him to sleep. It is very difficult to feed him. Most of the time I have to use bowl and spoon to feed. Please tell me what can I do to solve this problem. Also, is the quantity of milk he is drinking, okay? He cannot sit without support and with support also he is not good at maintaining balance. Is this okay?

Greetings It is normal for a 6-month-old male baby to weigh 6.2 kgs, as the typical range is 6.4 to 9.7 kgs. He is slightly below the average but still within a reasonable range, and steady growth is key. The milk quantity of 600-700 ml is also acceptable, as babies at this age typically drink 600-960 ml per day. The feeding aversion, where he only drinks milk when asleep, is a common behavioral issue which often results from pressure to feed or an underlying medical condition. This can be due to teething, ear infection, or reflux. Using a cup or spoon can help ensure hydration, but the root cause should be addressed. Regarding his inability to sit up well, this is also normal for his age; most babies sit with support at 4-6 months and independently around 7-9 months. He is developing appropriately, and you can encourage muscle development with more floor and tummy time.
