While soft, fine hair on public area ( vellus hair) are normal in infants and children, the presence of coarse, dark, longer hair (terminal hair) is not - the kind which we see in pubertal age groups and adults. Such hair signifies premature adrenarche, which too maybe a benign condition upon evaluation
